Season of the Force is a Star Wars themed celebration that takes place at Disneyland featuring offerings like special entertainment, an overlay for a favorite attraction, themed foods and merchandise, and more!
Season of the Force previously made the rounds at the Disney Parks including Disneyland and Walt Disney World in 2015 to celebrate Star Wars: A Force Awakens. The event introduced some iconic Star Wars traditions to the theme parks we still enjoy now like Hyperspace Mountain. As a dedicated Star Wars fan who has attended all the Disney Star Wars events, along with the major Star Wars Celebration fan convention, I am thrilled about the return of Star Wars Seasons of Force at Disneyland which took place last year and is now returning for 2025.
Keep reading for the 2025 Star Wars Season of the Force dates at Disneyland along with all the announced entertainment! This guide has been updated with new details Disney shared about this year's Season of the Force including the foods for the celebration!

NEW Nightly Projection Show for Season of the Force
One of the highlights of this year's Season of the Force is a new nightly projection show called “Shadows of Memory: A Skywalker Saga” which will debut on March 28, the first day of the celebration. The show will focus on the story of the Skywalkers.
Shadows of Memory: A Skywalker Saga will feature projections on the spires of Batuu near the Millennium Falcon, highlighting “some of the greatest moments in galactic history” with a musical score featuring themes heard throughout the Skywalker Saga. We are very excited to see this new entertainment offering in the land!
Luke Skywalker Character Experience
Disney has teased that for this year's Season of the Force, Luke Skywalker will be appearing at Disneyland's Galaxy's Edge for a limited time. This is the first time that this character from the original films has appeared in Galaxy's Edge.
We have loved seeing Luke and Leia in Tomorrowland at Star Wars Nite and are thrilled that this character experience is a highlight of this year's Season of the Force celebration in Galaxy's Edge. You can see more of our thoughts and how this is a positive step that Disney is taking to correct the biggest problem with Galaxy's Edge. Disney shared that he will be “joining other familiar encounters” in the land.
Last year, the character highlight of Season of the Force was Sabine Wren, who made appearances during the event for a limited time.
Sabine Wren is a popular character who originally made her debut in the animated hit series Star Wars Rebels. Sabine Wren was brought to live action for the first time in the Disney+ series Ahsoka along with her favorite characters like Ahsoka herself, Ezra Bridger, and Anakin Skywalker.
Hyperspace Mountain Returns
Hyperspace Mountain will return to Disneyland for Season of the Force. This Star Wars overlay appears yearly around May 4th so this is not unexpected but it is still a welcome addition to the event. Hyperspace Mountain transforms Space Mountain into a Star Wars theme with a Star Wars score (created just for the overlay) replacing the Space Mountain music and projections of Star Wars ships visible throughout the ride.
The story of this overlay puts guests in the cockpit of an X-wing fighter in the middle of a fight with the Empire. The squadron that takes part in this battle is named the Blue 77 Squadron as a reference to Luke's original X-wing concept (which was changed from blue to red) and 77 as a reference for the year (1977) Star Wars was released and Space Mountain opened at Disneyland.
Fireworks at Galaxy's Edge
“Fire of the Rising Moons” in Star Wars Galaxy's Edge will continue to feature a “fresh perspective” on the Disneyland fireworks which are visible from the land near the Millennium Falcon. The Star Wars fireworks addition includes “galactic music” to accompany the fireworks show. 2025 Season of the Force will include brand new projections and music for the show!
During the gathering, “villagers and visitors will come together to celebrate their freedom and to honor the heroes and legends of the galaxy who came before them.” We hope that they really execute here so that this becomes a highlight of the Star Wars fest. “Fire of the Rising Moons” features selections from John Williams’ Star Wars film scores, and guests can experience the show from multiple areas in Galaxy’s Edge, including the Black Spire Spaceport, the TIE Echelon docking platform, and the speeder garage. MagicBand+ will also interact with the show with colorful lights and vibrations.
When the experience was introduced for last year's Season of the Force, this was the first time we had seen Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge intentionally pay any sort of homage to the fireworks. Due to the immersive storyline of the land, Disney does not often break character so this is a welcome first to see them go as far as to incorporate music.
I hope this is a sign we might see Disneyland start to loosen the reigns on this land which is something I've always felt is a long overdue step, especially during the Disneyland holiday season.
Star Tours Continues To Be Popular For Fans
Back in 2011, the original Disneyland Star Wars attraction was revamped, allowing guests to visit multiple worlds in over 50 possible story combinations made possible through a random selection of multiple scenarios.
Last year, more Star Tours scenes were added that are inspired by “Ahsoka,” “Andor” and “The Mandalorian.” With these new additions, guests can now experience one of more than 250 storyline variations for the Star Tours attraction, including a visit to the planet Seatos from the Ahsoka series. Guests may receive urgent transmissions from characters like Ahsoka Tano, Cassian Andor, or Din Djarin and Grogu during their adventure.
We are particularly excited about the addition of Ahsoka, who began as an animated character in the television series The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels before being brought to the live-action shows. Ahsoka is arguably one of the most popular characters in the Star Wars canon.
Since then we have seen many Star Tours scenes added to celebrate the more recent Star Wars films that began with A Force Awakens plus the anniversary of The Empire Strikes Back. This is a great way to keep refreshing this attraction and create hype for a classic ride that's been a staple of Disneyland since 1987.
Disneyland Star Wars-Themed Food
Season of the Force will also include specialty themed food and beverages that will be available for a limited time. New collectible novelties will also be available during the event. This will include some new Star Wars-themed Disney popcorn buckets!
The full 2025 Season of the Force food guide has now been released! This year's foods include some returning favorites, new additions, and some fun Star Wars-themed novelties.

Season of the Force Merchandise
During Season of the Force in 2025, there will be new merchandise coming to stores in the parks and Downtown Disney.
For the first time, Disneyland Park will offer Star Wars plush for Create Your Own Headbands, including Yoda, R2-D2, an Ewok, Darth Vader, and a stormtrooper. This will be available at Bing Bong’s Sweet Stuff, World of Disney, The Mad Hatter, and The Star Trader.
There will be a new retro collection created in collaboration with Her Universe by Ashley Eckstein. This will be available at The Star Trader in Tomorrowland with one week exclusivity, then also at Star Wars Trading Post.
There will also be The Boba Fett Sports Jersey offered available at The Star Trader, Star Wars Trading Post, and World of Disney.
The Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Resistance Duos Collection will be available at Resistance Supply in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Below, you can see the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Resistance Duos Adult Tee from the collection.
There will also be a Hyperspace Mountain t-shirt available only at Disneyland Park for a limited time at locations including The Star Trader and Spaceport in Tomorrowland and Emporium on Main Street, U.S.A.
A new storyline will debut at Savi's Workshop called “Reclaimed and Reforged” for a limited time starting May 4, 2025. In this experience, guests can “build their own Lightsabers from scraps that have been scavenged by different pirates throughout the galaxy and made their way to Batuu.”
Season of the Force Seek and Find
During last year's Season of the Force, there was a limited-time Seek and Find activity offered for visitors with no fee required to participate where you could find coded cylinders to uncover a code word and receive a special keepsake. It is not yet clear whether this experience is returning for Season of the Force in 2025, but we have included the information from last year below for reference.
The story behind this is that as the Rebel Alliance set up a makeshift way-stop on Batuu during the reign of the Galactic Empire, to avoid detection, they made a code system with letters inscribed on old supply cylinders hidden around the area. Together, the letters formed a word given to a trusted contact.
If you’d like to participate in this activity, you’ll pick up a map at The Star Trader in Tomorrowland, then go to Galaxy’s Edge and look for the 6 coded cylinders hidden throughout the land. Using the map, you’ll take note of the symbols inscribed on each cylinder.
Then, you’ll head back to Tomorrowland, find the decoder signs, and use the symbols to decipher the letters, ultimately decrypting the code word. Go back to The Star Trader once you have this and you’ll get a special keepsake!
BDX Droids at Galaxy's Edge
Last year, two cute BDX droids visited Galaxy's Edge at Disneyland Park during the duration of the Season of the Force celebration. We do not yet know if they are returning for the 2025 Season of the Force celebration.
The BDX droids have learned how to handle different environments via “reinforcement learning” and are so much fun to watch in action! You can see them at various locations around Black Spire Outpost throughout the day.
You can see more details in our announcement of these droids coming to Disneyland for Season of the Force.
New Season of the Force Magic Shot
Last year, there was a new holopuck PhotoPass Magic Shot available for Din Djarin, Grogu, and more in addition to returning Star Wars Magic Shots and themed PhotoPass Lenses.
See a look at the new holopuck Magic Shot in the pictures above and below!
Season of the Force Past Events
Season of the Force was an event to celebrate the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. It was held at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World's Hollywood Studios in 2015 and later came to Disneyland Paris in 2017. The event has not been held since then until now.
The original Disneyland Season of the Force brought Hyperspace Mountain to Disneyland, Star Wars Launch Bay, the Path of the Jedi experience in the Tomorrowland Theater, and the Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple. Star Wars: Launch Bay at Disneyland remains closed and Jedi Training Trials of the Temple was discontinued towards the end of 2018.
I would love to see Jedi Training Trials of the Temple return as this was such a cool event for kids to participate in and for everyone to watch! Kids could sign up to be trained as Jedis and would face off against Darth Vader or Kylo Ren. My son participated twice when he was young and still remembers how intimidating facing off against Darth Vader was! Since there was no announcement of this part of the event returning, this is just wishing on my end.
I loved the special character meet and greets at Star Wars Nite which included some of the most popular character lines I've ever seen at a Disneyland event. People lined up and waited hours just for the chance to meet Ewoks! I hope Disney pays attention to what a draw these characters are and introduce them during Season of the Force.
